Gina Rodriguez, who plays Jane in Jane the Virgin, absolutely nails it whenever she discusses diversity, gender, race or equality, and in the below gif set where she discusses the pilot episode of Jane the Virgin, she does just this, once again.

Diversity in Hollywood, whether in hiring practices or in its portrayal, is rare. To thus have a mainstream American TV show actually portray something like dual cultural identity issues and acknowledge an often ignored and forgotten population (i.e., first, second and third generation Americans) is a step in the right direction and it is a small success in television history. So right on and thanks to Rodriquez for fighting the good fight and insisting on the “Man, I don’t even know how to say this in Spanish” line being kept. May you forever kickass Rodriguez.
